Abstract

            This paper presents the results of non – destructive testing and semi destructive testing carried out in the evaluation of the stability for building structures. For each type of damage and cause of damage or characteristic: service life, durability, and structural stability, execution of work, live load and environmental effects. To evaluate the capacity of the load carried, these investigations and analysis must have the data concerning physical properties and structural d etails in both past of structural materials and geological properties. The mentioned technique can be used for safety evaluations of the buildings structure in the future.

[accordion-item title=”16. Effect of Analysis Period on Pedestrian Level of Service at Walkway in Transit System”]

Abstract

            The level of service (LOS) is a measure of quality and performance of the transport facilities. For walkway, the LOS is based on the average pedestrian space and average flow rate. The larger space, which happens during the smaller flow rate, shows the better LOS, as pedestrians are more independent to move. According to the Transit Capacity and Quality of Service Manual, the pedestrian LOS is typically analyzed based on the average value over the busiest 15-min period. However, the results may obscure pedestrian circulation problems, as it shows too optimistic LOS. For transit station, the train is coming on the scheduled headway. The alighting passengers come as a platoon during a short period and then dissipate from the station. The situation would be same at the adjacent walkway. The data collection at the skywalk adjacent to the busy station is conducted in order to study the effect of the analysis period on the resulting pedestrian LOS. The results show that the pedestrian LOS on the skywalk is “A” but the real situation shows a very high density of pedestrian on the skywalk. This distorted LOS is a result of the analysis across inappropriate analysis period of 15 minutes. The selection of the analysis period affects the consistency of the resulting LOS. This concern should be raised to the design of the facilities in transit station for the future projects in order to improve the pedestrian LOS.

[accordion-item title=”17. The Effective of Mechanical Properties of Foamed Mortar”]

Abstract

            This is the study of the using foam in mortar their mechanical properties. The objective of the study is investigations of the efficacy of mortar to reduce the weight and good strength. By considering the proportion of mixing sand was replaced by foam, the water/cement ratio was fixed at 0.6. The samples were tested by following ASTM standards compression testing, flexural testing, flow able, water abortion and density. The results shows that the Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) beads foam decrease the compressive strength depending on the percentage foam addition. The density of mortar was decreased by the foam volume addition. In this study, results shows interesting mechanical properties of foam mortar in range of 50-60 percentage foam additions. It can increase the flexural strength and improve the water absorption of the samples testing.

Abstract

            This research aims to study guideline on a preparation of construction scheduling and trial preparation construction scheduling by building information modeling as well as to evaluate advantages, disadvantages, problems and obstacles. This research uses an experimental approach to preparing construction scheduling by building information modeling with the case study. The study found that the construction scheduling using building information modeling is suitable used to present to clients and to plan before starting work because of the process until the end of a project clearly. The approach is presented in this paper.

Abstract

            This research study about Building Information Modelling implementation process. In studying, researcher was interview about using BIM from project manager or stakeholder, who are working in leading construction companies in Thailand. Summary the result from interview. The study found that using of BIM in Thailand was still in an early stage. Implementing BIM software for use in the construction process was incomprehensive in Thailand. The research on the part of the interview found that the implementing BIM software in the construction process was used until stage of the As-Build drawing. Definition about level of detail in BIM drawing in each process was not clear, which based on working time and on-demand of the customer or owner’s project. Defining of responsibilities for each step will focus on coordination between those involved in the use of software. Document of BIM, the companies was set center server for save BIM data.

Abstract

This research evaluates the effect of melt spinning ultra-draw HDPE fiber using as the reinforced material in cement mortar. A whole set of experimental data were created reference to the efficiency of using HDPE fiber reinforced on the tensile and flexural properties of cement mortar with different high drawn ratio of HDPE fibers. The fiber with the different drawn ratio10x (d10 with E xx), 25x (d25 with E xx), and 35x (d35 with E xx) were used and the stress – strain displacement relationship behavior of HDPE short fiber reinforced cement mortar were investigated. It was found that the high drawn ratio of HDPE fiber show more improved in tensile strength and toughness than the low drawn ratio of HDPE fiber when reinforced in cement mortar.
