Abstract
This study focused on the influencing factors of students’ acceptance of artificial intelligence (AI) usage at Pingdingshan Vocational College, taking the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) as the theoretical foundation. It aimed to comprehensively and in-depth explore the specific factors influencing students’ acceptance of AI technology at Pingdingshan Vocational College, as well as their internal connections and mechanisms of action.
By constructing a corresponding structural model, the research rigorously verified the research hypotheses and the model. The research encompassed an analysis of the impacts of four core factors — performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions—on students’ acceptance of AI usage, and based on this, a questionnaire was designed to conduct an empirical study with students from Pingdingshan Vocational College as the survey subjects.
This study employed a quantitative research method, collecting data through questionnaires. A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed, and 377 valid questionnaires were retrieved, resulting in an effective response rate of 94.25%. The research findings indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions all have a significant impact on students’ acceptance of AI usage.
Based on these discoveries, this study proposes strategic recommendations to optimize students’ acceptance of AI usage at Pingdingshan Vocational College: (1) Cultivate students’ internal driving forces for the application of intelligent technologies;
(2) Establish a school support system for the application of intelligent technologies; (3) Promote the intelligent upgrading of the school’s management support system.
