Abstract
This report, Navigating Policy Research, Digital Ethnography, and Data Management: Internship Experience at Policy Entrepreneurs, Inc., summarizes the Co-operative Education internship completed at Policy Entrepreneurs, Inc. (PEI), Kathmandu, Nepal, as a Research Intern under Siam University, Semester 2/2026. The internship aimed to connect academic knowledge with practical experience in qualitative research, digital ethnography, and data management. Key responsibilities included supporting interview preparation and transcription for the Gen Z protest research project, organizing social media data for digital ethnography, maintaining research archives, and assisting hydropower portal data management through data collection, verification, and updates. The internship involved challenges such as handling large qualitative datasets, ensuring transcription accuracy, verifying information from multiple sources, and adapting to digital ethnography methods. These were addressed through systematic documentation, cross-verification, and effective time management. Overall, the experience strengthened research, data management, analytical, and professional skills while providing valuable insight into policy research and evidence-based development work in Nepal.
