Deuja, Amanda. (2017). Study of mobile wallet market in Kathmandu for the Launch of new product CG pay. (Cooperative Education). Bangkok: Siam University.
This report has been prepared as partial fulfillment of the requirement for the cooperative education, faculty of Business Administration at Siam University. Having expressed my interest and desire to work in the field of Research and Development department, I applied for the internship position at CG Pay under Chaudhary Group. I worked for CG Pay at the corporate building for 12 weeks starting from February 11, 2018 to May 10, 2018 for six days a week.
The emerging mobile payment market of Nepal is currently in transition with a history of numerous tried and failed solutions and a future of promising yet uncertain possibilities with new potential technologies. At this point of development, the research takes a look at the current state of the mobile payment market, review prior literature on mobile payment services and analyzes the different factors that impact the market.
The report includes the specific challenge given to me by my supervisor, the solutions to it and the learning as an intern under the project CG Pay during my internship. The challenged was to conduct a launch study for a new entrant- CG Pay, into the mobile wallet sector by conducting a research study for a preview of market response. For this, insights were gained through interactions with existing mobile companies, their merchants, agents and customers. Thus, these tasks have helped me understand the architecture of mobile wallet companies and the current market scenario of Mobile Wallet Industry in Nepal.
