Abstract
In recent years, the Chinese government has paid more and more attention to vocational education and proposed that it should vigorously develop higher vocational education and implement a cooperative education talent training model. “Cooperative education” has become an inevitable choice for private colleges and universities to enhance their competitiveness.
The objectives of this paper were: 1) To explore the situation of private university-Shandong Engineering Vocational and Technical University cooperative education work by adopting SWOT analysis; 2) To select the most suitable operation strategy for Shandong Engineering and Technical Vocational University cooperative education.
This paper adopted the documentary research method and took Shandong Engineering Vocational and Technical University as the research object to study its cooperative education strategies. Through the SWOT analysis of Shandong Engineering Vocational and Technical University, we found that:
1) The university has excellent educational conditions, advanced teaching concepts, reasonable professional settings, and diverse cooperative education models, there are also problems such as insufficient funds, insufficiently standardized management, unstable teachers and management teams, and lack of in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises. While the rapid development of higher vocational education brings opportunities to it, it also faces various threats from society;
2) Through the SWOT analysis matrix, this paper finally chose the SO strategy, which is the expansion development strategy. The universities should seize the historical opportunity, give full play to its own advantages, make up for shortcomings, vigorously develop cooperative education, and at the same time boldly innovate to build an in-depth and sustainable cooperative education competition strategy.
