Abstract

By attending the internship under the cooperative education project for the Housekeeping Department at Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside Hotel, the authors initiated and invented a luffa soap product from mandarin orange peels. The objectives of this project were: 1) to reduce the cost of buying general soaps; and 2) to study the process of making luffa soap from mandarin orange peel in order to develop a new product from waste for the hotel benefits. The authors conducted a satisfaction survey to ask the Housekeeping Department employees’ satisfaction with the developed product by distributing 30 copies of the questionnaire. The results of evaluating satisfaction were indicated as two aspects gained the highest level of satisfaction, namely: product shape that is suitable for the place with a mean of 4.63 and product scent preference with a mean of 4.57.
